2011 is not the most exciting season in F1 from a championship point of view where one constructor and driver dominated in such fashion, but nevertheless it provided the unique action, drama, and thrill that can only found in the world of Formula 1.
Driver of the year
1st: Sebastian Vettel
How could it be anyone else? Given arguably the best car, he managed to achieve a record 15 pole positions, 11 race wins, and 3 fastest laps. His team mate Mark Webber, who ran him close in last year’s championship, also had the same car, same equipment, same resources, and same opportunity but was only able to bag 3 pole positions and a solitary win, finishing 3rd in the standings, 134 points (more than 5 race wins) behind Vettel. At a very young age of 24, he has become more matured in terms of driving, becoming phenomenally consistent lap after lap, week in, week out.
(This has been sitting in my draft section for weeks now and I still got no time to finish this. I’m posting it for the sake of posting it before 2011 gets irrelevant but I promise to edit this soon!)
